What to Do First in Madden 22 Franchise Mode

Madden 22 Franchise mode has many more things to manage this year. Here's where you should start!

Pick the right team for you

In Madden 22 Franchise Mode, you'll first want to choose a team that's the best fit for you. This could mean in playstyle, roster construction, financial situation, or even simply picking your favorite team.

THE GRIND: Whichever team you choose in Madden 22 Franchise Mode, the goal is the same

For those looking for a challenge, teams like the New York Jets and the Detroit Lions can really make you work for those wins with challenging cap decisions and limited resources.

For those looking for an easy road, teams like the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens come stacked with talent that can make an impact for years to come.

Establish your direction

In football, like in all professional sports, the goal is to end the season as the last team standing. In pursuit of championships, middling or declining teams may have to make some rash decisions to begin the rebuilding process.

Similarly, contending teams may find it valuable to trade future resources for current assets for that final push to winning it all.

With this it's important to establish your roster building strategy from day one to make sure you're moving in the right direction for your situation.

Form your staff

Your coaches are massively important, and as a new addition in Madden 22, it will take some getting used to.

STRUCTURE: To win it all you'll need to bring in the right strategic minds for your coaching staff

To mold your team how you see fit, you'll need to put together the right coaching staff to help you along. Further than just the coaches themselves, it's important to also manage their direction via talent trees.

Whether you're shaping up as a defensive powerhouse or an air raider, some of your most valuable acquisitions will be the staff that can help you make it happen.

Adjust your playbook

If your direction doesn't match with your playbook, it could be best to change it altogether. On offense if you're looking for a pass-heavy playstyle, look no further than the New England Patriots playbook. If you're looking to smash the ball through with the run, consider the Las Vegas Raiders playbook.

On the defensive side, if you're leaning toward a 4-3 base to your defense, the San Francisco 49ers have some great options in their playbook, and to lean into 3-4, consider the Kansas City Chiefs.

INVESTMENTS: Managing your cap space is important in Franchise Mode, and the NFL Draft is a great tool to help

This includes making best use of the Free Agency early on, which offers some talented players like Mitchell Schwartz at 91 OVR for just $6.15 million. If these talented free agents don't slot well into your team, they still work as amazing trade pieces (for instance Mitchell Schwartz and most any first round draft pick can net you Jalen Ramsay at 99 OVR with ease.)
