Madden 23 Team Captains: All MUT 23 Offensive & Defensive Captains announced

Building up a strong Ultimate Team is going to be vital this year and you can pull it off with some of these Madden 23 Team Captains.

Let's go over the Offensive and Defensive Team Captains in MUT 23.

Madden 23 Team Captains

The Team Captains program is kicking off Madden 23 with two offensive options and two defensive options.

Each option that's available will definitely help out you Ultimate Team but you can decide which ones you'd rather have. To kick off the Madden 23 Team Captains, the two offensive positions are wide receiver and full back.

We know that the full back position isn't one that many MUT 23 players are excited about but RG made a great point during the Good Morning Madden stream.

He noted that EA wanted to have strong cards at relatively unused positions to bolster Team Chemistry for Theme Teams.

Now, let's take a look at the two offensive Madden 23 Team Captains.

Offensive Team Captains (at launch)

It's important to note that there could be more Team Captains added as the MUT 23 season continues, these are just the two at launch.

The first is a player that many people grew to love during his time with the Miami Dolphins. Coming in at the full back spot is Larry Csonka.

Larry Csonka (FB) - Miami Dolphins - 85 OVR

The great news about all of the Madden 23 Team Captains is that you can level up these cards quickly. All you'll need to do is complete a few challenges to get them from 85 OVR to 88 OVR.

Csonka is a great card to have in your Ultimate Team lineup. He's got solid awareness at 85 OVR and has a RBK of 80 and 81 STR with 79 SPD. He'll be a great goalline option for you.

Although Csonka is good, the other Madden 23 Team Captains are much more alluring, especially this Offensive Captain.

Keyshawn Johnson (WR) - New York Jets - 85 OVR

As we mentioned you can level up this card to an 88 OVR but of all the Madden 23 Team Captains, the Keyshawn Johnson card is by far our favorite.

With 82 SPD Johnson isn't very fast but he's got sure hands with an 84 CTH and 84 JMP. These attributes will also go up once you increase him to 88 OVR as well.

Now that we've covered the offense, let's take a look at the Madden 23 Team Captains on defense.

Defensive Team Captains (at launch)

While we watched the Good Morning Madden stream that revealed the Madden 23 Team Captains, we weren't too excited about the defensive guys.

The good news is that there's definitely a great defensive back that you can add on your team through this program.

Eric Allen (CB) - Philadelphia Eagles - 85 OVR

Allen will provide you with a strong starting corner back which you'll definitely need with some of the wide receivers in MUT 23 this year. Already we saw a few great ones added to the Ultimate Team Headliners set.

With Allen, you'll get a cornerback that has 83 SPD, 84 ACC, and 84 JMP which will help him in jump-ball situations.

He also has great ratings to Man Coverage (84) and Zone Coverage (82) and is one of the most valuable Madden 23 Team Captains available.

Sam Adams (DT) - Seattle Seahawks - 85 OVR

To provide a little variety to the Madden 23 Team Captains this year, EA dropped a defensive tackle for the second defensive spot.

Some might not like this, having a full back and a defensive tackle as available options but it broadens the game and Adams is definitely a run-stuffer.

Considering you'll have the ability to level up all of these Madden 23 Team Captains, it's important to note he already has a 75 SPD rating, which is pretty quick for a DT.

He also has 85 to STR and PMV, giving him the ability to toss interior offensive lineman to the side.
