Minecraft 1.20 - Trails and Tales brings new Bamboo wood type

Minecraft Bamboo

Minecraft 1.20 is bringing the new Trails and Tales update very soon, and it will change a ton about how the game can be played. More storytelling opportunities and a whole new biome are just the beginning, as it will bring some major improvements to the world.

You'll be able to try out all these new features for yourself in the Bedrock Beta and Java Snapshots available right now. Here's everything you need to know about the new wood type, and expanded uses for Bamboo coming with the new update.

Minecraft Trails and Tales Bamboo Wood Set

Bamboo may not be a new feature in the game, but the item will now have a ton of expanded uses, and a wood set to go with it. You'll be able to build any wood item in the game out of the new bamboo wood, and it will have some extra uses that other wood types do not.

Bamboo wood also has a set of special exclusive blocks under the name of bamboo mosaics in Minecraft 1.20. They are wooden building blocks that you can only craft using bamboo and work like other building blocks in the wood family but have a continuously wrapped texture.

These blocks look fantastic in game and would make the perfect addition to any house or building in your world. You'll be able to make stairs, slabs, and any other building block to match.

The rafts are crafted in the same way as a normal boat in Minecraft, but have quite a different look. You'll be able to make a raft with a chest in exactly the same way as you usually would, in which you can store your new trimmed armor.

Bamboo will be obtained in the usual way and can be crafted into the new block types from there. The best place to find it will be in large jungle biomes, and it will continue to spawn in large clusters, so you'll have everything you need to get building.
