Everything we know about the Bethesda E3 2021 event

Day 2 of E3 2021 has begun and the first major show of the day belongs to Bethesda. In collaboration with Xbox, they will present everything they have lined up for the coming years. We're also hoping for additional information on projects we don't know too much about.

LATEST - Bethesda Take To The Stage Tonight

The joint Xbox and Bethesda E3 event takes place this evening at 6 pm BST. Not much has been revealed about the show so far which is standard for recent Xbox E3 showings. We know Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6 are likely to be shown, but how far from release are they?

We'll keep you up to date throughout the day with any updates are leaks that are revealed.

Microsoft May Be Hinting at Starfield

Recently over on Twitter, Dom an industry insider, suggested that Microsoft prom images for their shared conference hint at Starfield

Of course, with the "zomg" in the last image, this could simply be a joke at the expense of those who speculate but we don't know just yet. Hopefully, this is sincere.

Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase Details

At long last, Xbox has confirmed that they're going to be hosting a joint Games Showcase with Bethesda. We also know when it's going down.

Bethesda was recently bought out by Xbox, so a joint E3 2021 Games Showcase isn't the most surprising news. What is interesting though is what this means for Bethesda games on PlayStation consoles going forwards.

We know we'll eventually see the next Elder Scrolls game on PlayStation, but there are rumours that Starfield is an Xbox exclusive and it looks like this is going to be confirmed soon.

In addition to this, we now know when the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase is due to take place. It's going to be broadcast on Sunday, June 13th at 10:00 PST / 13:00 EST / 18:00 BST. This might not be the first presentation of the day, as E3 coverage usually kicks off early at 09:00 PST... But, it will certainly be one of the biggest.

There's going to be Xbox Game Pass updates, World Premieres, and a whole lot more.

Starfield Could Be Exclusive

Ever since Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda, Xbox owners have been getting more than a few nice perks with their subscription. According to Venture Beat's Jeff Grubb, Starfield will be exclusive to PC and Xbox.

While Jeff is well known for being accurate in his reporting, this information should be taken with a grain of salt. Microsoft could always reverse this decision later down the line.

E3 2021 Hosts Revealed

The hosts for the E3 2021 event have been announced.E3 2021 will be hosted by Greg Miller, the co-founder of entertainment outlet Kinda Funny, Jacki Jing, an Emmy-nominated TV journalist who has worked with IGN, and Alex ‘Goldenboy’ Mendez, a professional esports commentator and also a commentator for NBC’s The Titan Games.

Elder Scrolls 6, Please

Yeah, we know it's a big ask but it has to happen at some point. We know they're building a game that will last a decade, but it's almost been a decade since Skyrim came out and we think we're all ready for another single-player Elder Scrolls game.

However, we won't be getting it anytime soon... Todd Howard was talking to IGN a little while ago about it and he acknowledged that there was a gap between titles, but also stated that this would continue.

In addition to this, with Starfield the "next" big Bethesda title coming out (at some point), we aren't expecting any news about Elder Scrolls 6 until after that.

E3 2021 could give us something though, couldn't it? Crumbs of information, maybe a location... Anything.

What Games Are We Expecting?

There's really only one answer to this one isn't there... Elder Scrolls 6 is all anyone can think of when it comes to Bethesda and we are hoping / praying / making sacrifices that we will hear more information soon.

We're not so sure though, as it sounds like it is still a long ways away.

That being said, expansions for both Fallout 76 and The Elder Scrolls Online could be safe bets given the expansive ongoing nature of the titles.

There's also the mysterious Starfield, which's due to release at some point. Venture Beat's Jeff Grubb is expecting more "in the summer", so we can hope. This game was first announced in 2018 and, although we're not expecting a confirmed release date, some sort of update would be great.

Oh, there's also this little teaser that we expect to get more information about...

On top of all this, we might get something more from DOOM or Wolfenstein. Both franchises perform well and have seen a revival in recent years thanks to Bethesda.

E3 2021 Dates & Start Time

At the moment, E3 2021 will take place between June 12th and June 15th with additional "media and influencer" days from June 7th. This means, in theory, any E3 news could come out from as early as June 7th until June 15th.

Given the nature of the event, this date could change. We're not expecting it to change, but it could.

Without confirmation on the degree of attendance Ubisoft will have at E3 2021, or any information regarding scheduling, we don't actually know when Ubisoft might release new information during this period.

We aren't expecting to see anything like a confirmed schedule until at least the end of May.

How To Watch E3 2021?

E3 is going to be a little different this year given the fact that it's an all-digital event.

Firstly, it's going to be open to everyone. This means that, as long as you have a screen, you can watch E3. In theory, anyway.

At the moment, there aren't any Virtual Tickets available (or any official information about these Virtual Tickets). So, E3 has set up an announcement email that you can subscribe to through the E3 Expo website. This should keep you in the loop of any announcements between now and the start of the event.

E3 2021 will be available through an exclusive online portal and supporting mobile app, on top of being streamed via other major platforms. There isn't anything solid about this just yet though, but we're expecting to hear more soon.
