Kirby and the Forgotten Land is easily one of the most anticipated Nintendo Switch games in recent memory. Perhaps because the mainline games are few and far between with it having been four years since Star Allies was released.
What do we know about Kirby's latest adventure? Well, thanks to the most recent Nintendo Direct showcase, a whole lot more than we did before! Here's everything we know ahead of the release of Kirby and the Forgotten Land next month!
Kirby and the Forgotten Land Release Date
Kirby and the Forgotten Land will release on Friday, 25 March 2022. It is only the second mainline Kirby game to be released on the Nintendo Switch after Star Allies. Usually, we would be cautious with release dates but Nintendo and Hal Laboratories seem to have played this quite safe, only revealing a date when they were sure it could be met.
The Nintendo Direct was also focused on games that would be released in the first half of 2022, further suggesting that and kind of delay is unlikely.
Gameplay Video
Also as part of the recent blockbuster Nintendo Direct, we got out first true looks at some gameplay for Kirby and the Forgotten Land. This is where the much-discussed Mouthful Mode was revealed.
In this mode, Kirby can vacuum up various items - yes, including a car - and then use properties of that item within the game. Some of the items shown off included a Vending Machine, Traffic Cone and Scissor Lift.
While these may seem like a random selection, each is shown to have very specific uses within Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Just like past games in the series, the quirks are what make Kirby stand out and we can't wait to go hands-on with the game upon release.
