To many fans' surprise and delight, Nintendo is bringing Mario Strikers back this year with the upcoming release of Mario Strikers: Battle League having been revealed at Nintendo Direct.

Release Date
The new game is set to be released on Friday, 10 June 2022, as announced at Nintendo Direct.
The game's file size clocks in at 3GB, so you may need to clear some hard drive space before picking the game up in June.
The new game will be available to play online and local multiplayer, but online play will require a Nintendo membership.
Pre Order
Mario Strikers: Battle League is available for pre order today on the Nintendo E-Shop, so you can secure your copy now for Nintendo Switch.
Mario Strikers: Battle League is priced at $59.99 or £50.99.
The game is currently only available to purchase on the Nintendo Switch, though (while unlikely) we could see it made available on other platforms as we get closer to the game's launch later this year.
First Kick Demo event
Nintendo has announced that the Mario Strikers: Battle League First Kick event will take place on Saturday, 4 June, and Sunday, 5 June.
There are three windows per day for players to access the game, each with a one-hour time slot.
The windows are the same on both Saturday and Sunday, with the timings as follows:
- 04:00 - 05:00 BST
- 12:00 - 13:00 BST
- 20:00 - 21:00 BST

The Mario Strikers: Battle League gameplay trailer includes a few clips of gameplay as well as some elaboration on new changes to the game.
This includes customization of your team and their stats, new special moves, Hyper Strikes, multiplayer options, as well as some other new features along the way.
The game will feature multiplayer both online and locally, allowing up to 8 players to play at the same time.

So far, Nintendo has showcased a number of beloved characters set to appear in the new Mario Strikers: Battle League game.

We expect to see more Mario Strikers: Battle League characters revealed within the coming weeks, as Nintendo releases more information and perhaps another trailer.
