How to Register for the New World Open Beta

The open beta for New World, Amazon Games' upcoming MMO, will go live on September 9!

Here's how to sign up for your spot in the action.

What is New World?

New World is an upcoming MMO developed and published by Amazon Games. Set on the magical island of Aeternum, players must fight, forage, and craft to progress through the game and uncover the island's mysteries.

A lot is riding on New World. Amazon Games' two previous efforts to enter the gaming industry (the free-to-play shooter Crucible and the brawler Breakaway) both failed, but until New World releases on September 28, 2021, it remains to be seen if the title will prove to be either a "third time's the charm" or a "three strikes, you're out" production for Amazon.

How to Register for the New World Open Beta

Prior to New World's release, Amazon is holding an open beta for players in North America, Europe, Australia, and South America. The beta will run from Thursday, September 9 at 7:00AM PT (2:00PM UTC) to September 12 at 11:59PM PT (6:59AM UTC).

Players can request access to the open beta via the Steam Playtest tool on the New World Steam page. Requests will open on September 8 at 7:00AM PT (2:00PM UTC).

Although players may record, stream, and share their gameplay during the New World open beta, progress will not be carried over into the game's final version, and Amazon warns that changes to the game may occur. This likely signals that Amazon plans to incorporate feedback from the beta in order to give the game the best possible chance of succeeding at launch.
