Following a successful reveal during The Game Awards 2021, Rumbleverse was set to enter Early Access on Tuesday, 8 February and release in full one week later on Tuesday, 15 February.
Following a statement released on their website, this is no longer the case. Rumbleverse has suffered an indefinite delay. They provided an update on the state of the game post-beta and it seems like they haven't taken this decision lightly and they hope it will work out for the best in the long run.
Rumbleverse has been delayed indefinitely
Despite a positive showing during The Game Awards and subsequent First Look play session, Rumbleverse has suffered an indefinite delay. Fortunately, the developers behind the game, Iron Galaxy, have been very transparent with the announcement.
Today, we are announcing that we have decided not to launch Rumbleverse on February 15.
Having Grapital City filled with Rumblers taught us a lot. We’re excited about the game we’re making – and we’re glad you are, too – but there’s more we want to do to perfect the experience. More than a game, Rumbleverse will be a community that we want to support for a long time. We’re going to take the time to make sure we can get that right.
It promising to see that anyone who is financially committed to the game can receive a refund and chose whether they want to reinvest when a new release date is announced.
We didn't get a chance to take a look at Rumblerverse during its First Look play session but initial feedback around the game seemed positive. That being said, players had plenty of feedback for the developers and they appear to be taking this on board rather than forcing it through to release.
This is probably another knock-on effect from the Cyberpunk 2077 disaster even though this title will be free to play at launch.
