NOT LONG TO GO: The new skating game is out this week on Nintendo Switch

Moving forward is automatic, while familiar moves such as jumps, grinds, flips, and holds are now tied to the face buttons.

Series veterans can choose between the original and new control schemes, but the controls are intuitive in either setup and the inputs for every trick can be customized too.

Additions to the core move set like the manual from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2, the revert from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3, and even the wall plant from Tony Hawk’s Underground all demonstrate Vicarious Visions’ impressive commitment to modernizing the mechanics for both new and returning players.

Release Date on Nintendo Switch

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 remasters the original titles that got going in 1999 and 2000 respectively and were released on several platforms available at the time: PlayStation, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast and Game Boy Advance.

It's been two decades since the initial release and the game has developed quite the cult following, which prompted the games' remastering on Windows, PS4, and Xbox One.

PLAY SOON: The games will drop in just a couple weeks.

The current gen remaster dropped on September 4, 2020 and later a next gen remaster came out on March 26, 2021 that involved PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

In a few weeks however, Nintendo fans will get some much needed attention. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 both drop on Nintendo Switch on June 25, 2021.

New Features

The remaster does come with some cool new features. Although, the games don't forget their roots and left all the same original levels, skaters, tricks, and soundtrack.

But, the game added plenty of new tricks, new secrets to discover on each level, and several gameplay and online multiplayer options are now available.

The game brought back classic skaters like Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, Geoff Rowley, Bucky Lasek, Elissa Steamer, Kareem Campbell, Andrew Reynolds, Bob Burnquist, and Chad Muska, but also left room for some of today's stars.

The new skaters include Nyjah Huston, Leo Baker, Leticia Bufoni, Aori Nishimura, Lizzie Armanto, Shane O’Neill, Riley Hawk, and Tyshawn Jones.

Price on Nintendo Switch

When bought, players can access both Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2. The titles cost pretty much the same on all platforms.

On Nintendo Switch, the game is listed fairly at $39.99. Being that it's a remaster and not a fully new game, this price makes sense.
