Wednesday has two worthwhile contests, and both start at 12:05pm ET. One contains the early slate with nine games, and the other is an all day, 14-game, which this piece focuses on. With so many games the player pool is incredibly deep, leaving a lot of room for value and most importantly, profit. So, who should be in your all day lineups?
Chris Sale Vs. Oakland Athletics ($11,800)
The A's have taken the first two games of this series in Boston, but they haven't faced the might of Chris Sale. With a lot of big arms going today Sale is just the fourth-most expensive pitcher, and that is great value.
He comes into today with a 3-1 record, a 2.17 ERA, and a 12.1 K/9. The A's are finding ways to score runs on Boston, but Sale should find more than enough strikeouts to make up for that.
JA Happ @ New York Mets ($9,300)
Don't let Happ's 4.80 ERA worry you too much. It is a number bloated by his last outing, a 3.1 IP, 7 ER start against the Mariners. Outside of that he has been in reasonable form this season. He is striking out hitters at a remarkable rate, posting his best K/9 since his rookie season (11.2) and keeping his walk rate acceptable. The only worry is that Happ is giving up homers more frequently, but you can't always have two aces in your lineup, and Happ is a nice option at this price.
Jameson Taillon Vs. Chicago White Sox ($7,600)
At his best Taillon can be a monster. He has a complete game shutout against the Reds to his name this season already. The issue is that his run support isn't great, and when he doesn't have it he can really get blasted. The Tigers hung a -5.8 on him earlier this season.
He left his last start with a finger laceration and it isn't certain that he will make this start, but he has seemed to be ok in preparations. His 4.08 ERA isn't great, but a 7.9 K/9 is nice, and he is keeping the ball in the park too.
Tommy Pham @ Minnesota Twins ($5,000)
Pham may be 0 for his last 12, but he also has three homers and two steals this month. The Cardinals leadoff man has a nice slash line of .308/.420/.533, with seven homers and seven steals on the season. He can score points in so many different ways that he is one of the safest prospects in DFS.
Ryon Healy Vs. Texas Rangers ($4,200)
Healy has had a very nice start to 2018. He mashed his eighth homer of the year last night and is hitting .287. While he's only had five walks this year, his power and average has given him a very strong 10.3 DFS points per game. Against Bartolo Colon he is a very good option at first today.
Alex Bregman @ Los Angeles Angels ($3,600)
Bregman is not playing brilliantly, but not all of your hitters can be superstars. Importantly for us though, Bregman has an excellent OBP (.381), so his lack of power shouldn't be too bad. He has had just one 0-point game in his last 10, so this is a nice play to save money elsewhere.
