Home Run Derby: A look at the contestants

The MLB All-Star festivities are right around the corner. With four days to go until the All-Star Break, everything is getting completed for the upcoming events, including the T-Mobile Home Run Derby. ESPN released the derby bracket last night, and it’s filled with many worthy players but also some unexpected names. 

Whether it’s because players didn’t want to compete or they weren’t asked, the American League only has one representative while the National League boasts seven players. The system may look skewed but if AL players really didn’t want to take part, then one can’t complain about the bracket. With the Home Run Derby mere days away, let’s look at this year’s participants.
