The first MLB The Show 22 Roster Update has arrived with some transactions and ratings changes that included the addition of Seiya Suzuki.

The first MLB The Show 22 Roster Update is here, though it's worth clarifying that this one is only a minor transactions focused update.

The first full attribute update hasn't yet been announced, and it will include significantly more ratings changes with players all across the league moving up and down with their Live Series cards.

However, Sony San Diego is aiming to drop a transactions focused MLB The Show 22 Roster Update each week regardless of whether they've got a full attribute update coming along with it.

Among the biggest highlights this time is the addition of Seiya Suzuki, who just missed the cut to get into MLB The Show 22 at launch.

At just 27 years old, Seiya Suzuki has been lighting up Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball league for years and is a 5-time NPB All-Star, 6-time NPB Best Nine Award winner, and 5-time NPB Golden Glove Award winner.

After signing with the Chicago Cubs on March 18, 2022, Suzuki made his Opening Day debut on April 7, 2022 and snagged his first MLB hit in the fifth inning of that game.

He's now finally available as a Live Series card in MLB The Show 22 and is a part of the live rosters which are updated to have him in the Chicago Cubs lineup.

While the update focused primarily on transactions and position changes, some of those position changes also triggered an attribute adjustment for their Live Series cards in Diamond Dynasty.

As a result, a handful of players did see their ratings go up or down with this MLB The Show 22 Roster Update, though few which are major players in the league as of yet.

  • Josh Fleming (SP) - 72 OVR (+5) - Tampa Bay Rays
  • Kolby Allard (SP) - 71 OVR (+5) - Texas Rangers
  • Jakob Junis (SP) - 69 OVR (+6) - San Francisco Giants
  • Vince Velasquez (SP) - 69 OVR (+4) - Chicago White Sox
  • Jordan Sheffield (SP) - 68 OVR (+5) - Colorado Rockies
  • Luke Weaver (RP) - 67 OVR (-5) - Arizona Diamondbacks
