Will MLB The Show 22 be on Xbox Game Pass?

MLB The Show 22 hasn't quite arrived yet, but players are already looking ahead to see if they'll be able to play the game with Xbox Game Pass.

Here's everything we know so far about the potential arrival of MLB The Show 22 on Xbox Game Pass.

Will MLB The Show 22 be on Xbox Game Pass?

The short answer is that we don't know yet, as they've yet to announce MLB The Show 22 or any plans for the release.

However, the chances look very good that we will see it hit the popular gaming subscription service.

MLB The Show 21 was the first installment of the long-running franchise that branched out from being a PlayStation exclusive, and led to their most massive launch in series history.

HOME RUN: There's no doubt another year on Game Pass would be huge

With MLB The Show 21 landing on four consoles, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, it effectively quadrupled the potential player based compared to the MLB The Show 20 release exclusively on PS4.

On top of their Xbox debut, Sony San Diego made the major step of revealing MLB The Show 21 would hit Xbox Game Pass at launch and be available on Day One for all Game Pass subscribers.

With the title's success last year, it's very likely we'll once again see it hit Xbox Game Pass on release date and keep that massive player base engaged.

Will MLB The Show 22 be free on PlayStation Plus?

One of the biggest frustrations for PlayStation players last year was that MLB The Show 21 had instantly become that much cheaper for Xbox players.

However, there could be change on the horizon, as Bloomberg has reported Sony is in the process of creating their own Game Pass rival.

According to the report, PlayStation Plus will essentially absorb PlayStation Now and keep the Plus branding while having both classic and current games available as part of the subscription.

We've even seen Nintendo do this to some extent, pairing their Nintendo 64 and Sega e-shop launches with the Nintendo Switch Online membership.

With the new PlayStation service potentially targeting a spring launch, making MLB The Show 22 one of their flagship launch titles would be a perfect pairing.

Xbox has frequently paired the games they publish with Xbox Game Pass, and Sony making their own published game a cornerstone of their service makes sense.

It would also level the playing field, allowing players on both Xbox and PlayStation to get the game with a reasonably priced subscription.

On top of that, we're expecting to see crossplay included once again, as it was in MLB The Show 21, which will continue to keep players as connected as possible when MLB The Show 22 launches.
