FanDuel & DraftKings NBA Daily Picks: Fantasy lineup & advice 10/23/17

PG - John Wall, Washington Wizards @ Denver Nuggets

John Wall has been a beast to start the season. The Wizards superstar is averaging 27 points, four rebounds, nine assists, and two blocks in his first two games of the year. He would’ve topped 50 fantasy points in each of those games had it not been for his eight turnovers against the Pistons.

Well, Wall will have another opportunity to top 50 when he faces the fast-paced Denver Nuggets team that also happens to have a hard time containing opposing point guards. Look for the 27-year-old to have another fine fantasy day to start the week.

SG - Marco Belinelli, Atlanta Hawks @ Miami Heat

The bad news for the Hawks is that point guard Dennis Schroder left last night’s game with an ankle injury, and is unlikely to play tonight against the Heat. Schroder has been a huge part of the Hawks' offense thus far, and his absence would leave a huge hole to fill.

Enter Marco Belinelli. The veteran shooting guard had 19 points on 13 shots in last night’s game, his second of 19 or more points this season. He’s perhaps the team’s second most reliable perimeter scorer outside of Schroder and should receive a healthy dose of the 23 shots per game Schroder is averaging on the season.

SF - Ben Simmons, Philadelphia 76ers @ Detroit Pistons

Newsflash: Ben Simmons is legit. The Sixers rookie has recorded a double-double in each of his first three games as a pro, and also sprinkled in 18 points and eight assists in his last game against the Toronto Raptors. It’s also encouraging to see that Simmons continues to see big minutes. He had 33 against the Raptors despite the Sixers getting blown out by 34.

Tonight’s opponents, the Detroit Pistons, may be 2-1, but they’ve already given up some big games to forwards like Otto Porter and Kristaps Porzingis. With the Australian getting stronger and more confident with each passing game, another big game could be on the cards for him tonight.

PF - James Johnson, Miami Heat vs. Atlanta Hawks

James Johnson got the start against the Pacers with Hassan Whiteside out of the lineup, and he delivered with 14 points, eight boards, and five blocked shots in just 30 minutes of play. Whiteside is still a doubt to return to the Heat lineup against the Atlanta Hawks, which is good news for Johnson. His versatility will be a matchup problem for the Hawks frontcourt and should be able to produce strong value given his price.

C - Willie Cauley-Stein, Sacramento Kings @ Phoenix Suns

After recording back-to-back double-doubles in his first two games of the season, Willie Cauley-Stein crashed back down to earth with a disappointing two-point, eight-rebound outing against the Denver Nuggets. WCS will get the chance to redeem himself though, against the struggling Phoenix Suns.

Not only do the Suns keep getting bullied by everyone they run into these days, particularly centers who feast on the glass, but their fast pace of play means more possessions for WCS to rack up some impressive numbers.
