FanDuel & DraftKings NBA Daily Picks: Fantasy lineup & advice 2/27/18

PG – Goran Dragic, Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers

After an impressive hot streak, Dragic finally fell back down to earth with a mere six-point performance against the Memphis Grizzlies. Moreover, Dragic’s price has dipped significantly ahead of his third meeting of the month against the Philadelphia 76ers. Dragic admittedly hasn’t performed well in either of those games, but his really cheap price coupled with the fact that the Sixers are still giving up the third-most fantasy points in the league makes his value upside that much higher.

Also consider: Tyler Johnson, Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers

Gragic’s backcourt mate Tyler Johnson has been on a roll over his last few games. He’s hit 5x value in four of his last five games. That includes a strong 12-point, six-assist, two-steal performance against the Sixers on Valentine’s Day. He’s also coming off a terrific 23-point outing against the Grizzlies. His price is also one that feels way too cheap and has the potential to pay off in a big way.

SG – Lou Williams, Los Angeles Clippers @ Denver Nuggets

Williams has been the picture of consistency over the last couple of weeks. Over his last six games, he’s been averaging 24.0 points, 6.3 assists, and 1.0 steal, which has seen him hover around 5x value in five of those six contests. He’s also hit 40 fantasy points in FanDuel in back-to-back games. His price has risen a bit as a result, but he still has a good chance of delivering significant value against a fast-paced Nuggets team.

Also consider: Gary Harris, Denver Nuggets vs Los Angeles Clippers

On the other side, Harris is another guard who can provide some solid production. Despite struggling from the field against the Rockets (six points, 2-12 FG), he still had a decent fantasy night thanks to five steals. He’s now been in and around 5x value in three consecutive games. Harris also had a strong game against the Clippers last month with 19 points, four assists and four steals, and should be a good bet to approach those numbers again. 

SF – DeMarre Carroll, Brooklyn Nets @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Carroll bounced back very nicely from an off night against the Hornets as he dropped 18 points, six rebounds and five assists in just 27 minutes last night against the Bulls. That Hornets game has been the lone blip in what has been a stellar run for the veteran wing. He’s exceeded 5x value in six of his last seven games. And even with that strong production, he remains a relative bargain. It won’t be an ideal spot for him on the second night of a back-to-back, but a matchup against the still-questionable Cavs wing defense should be enough to mitigate some of that risk.

Also consider: Allen Crabbe, Brooklyn Nets @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Similar to Carroll, Crabbe has been in excellent form of late. He had another strong performance last night with 21 points against the Bulls and has now hit 5x value in five of his last six games. He had a decent line in his first meeting with the Cavs (15 points, four rebounds, two assists) and has the potential to raise those numbers a little bit more given how well he’s been playing lately.

PF – Larry Nance Jr., Cleveland Cavaliers vs Brooklyn Nets

Nance has been just what the doctor ordered for the Cavs in terms of his energy and defense. He’s recorded six blocks and nine steals in his first five games with the team. He’s parlayed those precious stats into two games of 8x value. A matchup against the up-and-down Nets on the second night of a back-to-back seems like the perfect game for an athletic big like Nance and could see him explode for another huge fantasy game.

Also consider: James Johnson, Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers

Johnson has been raising his game to another level recently. The Heat sixth man has been averaging 13.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.2 steals over his last five games, which have led to some impressive fantasy nights. Easily the most impressive was his 22-point, four-board, five-assist outing against the Sixers just before the break. It may be asking too much to expect that sort of production again, but his price tag remains reasonable enough that he can still be a worthwhile value pick.

C – Willie Cauley-Stein, Sacramento Kings @ Portland Trail Blazers

There’s just something about the Blazers which has brought out the very best in Cauley-Stein. The Kings big man is averaging 19.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.3 blocks in three meetings against Portland this season. Cauley-Stein will be going on the second night of a back-to-back, but one of his games against Portland came on a back-to-back, and he still went off for 18 points, nine boards, three steals and a block, so he might just be worth the risk.
