FanDuel & DraftKings NBA Daily Picks: Fantasy lineup & advice 2/6/18

PG - Tyler Ulis, Phoenix Suns @ Los Angeles Lakers

Ulis hasn’t gotten as much playing time as he wants this season, but with Devin Booker and Isaiah Canaan both out, the Suns will need him to play heavy minutes against the Lakers. Ulis delivered a stellar line of 13 points, seven assists, and five steals in 31 minutes the last time Booker missed a game. His upside figures to be much higher as he takes on the Lakers, who have been pretty generous fantasy-wise against opposing point guards for most of the season.

Also consider: Andrew Harrison, Memphis Grizzlies @ Atlanta Hawks

Harrison continues to grow in stature for the Grizzlies. He’s getting big minutes at point guard nowadays, and he’s thriving. He’s averaging 17 points, four rebounds, and 5.5 assists in 32.5 minutes in his first two games of February. He still remains very reasonably priced, and will have a terrific matchup to put up big numbers as he takes on the Hawks, who are giving up the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing point guards.

SG - Mario Hezonja/Jonathon Simmons, Orlando Magic vs Cleveland Cavaliers

The Magic are coming off a big road win over the Miami Heat last night, and the wing duo of Hezonja and Simmons played a big part in that win. Hezonja had 20 points, five boards, two steals, and four 3-pointers, while Simmons added 16 points in 27 minutes. With Aaron Gordon absent over the last four games, Hezonja has put up 16.5 points, four rebounds, and 3.5 3-pointers. 

Although they’re on the second night of a back-to-back, it’s still worth gambling on wings - especially ones with reasonable price tags like Hezonja and Simmons - whenever they face the Cavs. Hezonja had his lone double-double of the season with 16 points and ten rebounds in his most recent meeting with Cleveland last month. Meanwhile, Simmons has put up 17.5 points on 52 percent shooting with 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals in two games against the Cavs.

SF - T. J. Warren/Josh Jackson, Phoenix Suns @ Los Angeles Lakers

With Booker out, Warren and Jackson will once again have a chance to put up the 20-point games that have become customary for them recently. Warren bounced back from a rare off-night against the Jazz to drop 21 points on the Hornets last time out. He’s enjoyed facing the Lakers this season, as he’s averaging 20 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.3 steals against them.

As for Jackson, he’s been on an absolute tear of late. The rookie has scored 20 points in four games in a row and 18 or more in six of his last seven games. Given the Suns’ lack of offensive options and his impressive play of late, it’ll be hard not to see him approaching at least 30 minutes against the Lakers, who just so happen to have some pretty awful perimeter defense.

PF - Julius Randle, Los Angeles Lakers vs Phoenix Suns

Randle has oddly struggled in all three games against Phoenix this season, but it’s worth taking a chance on him because he’s been so good lately. He’s started the month off with back-to-back 19-point games against the Nets and Thunder. And over the course of his last ten games, he’s been putting up 17 points and eight boards in just 27 minutes of action. He’s been playing over 30 minutes recently given Kyle Kuzma’s current slump, and another game with that sort of playing time could lead to more strong numbers.

Also consider: Dragan Bender, Phoenix Suns @ Los Angeles Lakers

Speaking of strong starts to the month, Bender has been blistering hot to start February. He’s racked up a total of 34 points, 14 rebounds, and eight 3-pointers in his first two games of the month. There’s obviously a chance he gets his minutes and looks reduced with the return of Marquese Chriss from suspension. But it’s still worth taking a shot on him given all the value he can provide if he does play well.

C - Brook Lopez, Los Angeles Lakers vs Phoenix Suns

Lopez has returned with a vengeance. Since being benched against the Magic at the end of January, Lopez has come out firing in February. He’s averaging 19.5 points and 3.5 3-pointers through the first two games. And now, he’ll get a chance to face the Suns, whom he’s burned all three times he’s faced them this season. He’s averaging 17.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks in those games, and he would provide outstanding value given his current price point if he can come close to reaching those numbers again.

Also consider: Enes Kanter, New York Knicks vs Milwaukee Bucks

Kanter’s unbelievable run of fantastic fantasy performances finally ended with a surprising ten-point, 12-rebound outing against the Hawks. In the five games prior, Kanter had been averaging 18.8 points and 14.4 rebounds. He just dropped 17 points and 18 boards against the Bucks last week, and it’d be worth seeing if he can do it again.
