FanDuel & DraftKings NBA Daily Picks: Fantasy lineup & advice 3/1/18

PG – Goran Dragic, Miami Heat vs Los Angeles Lakers

Dragic bounced back nicely from his rough night against the Grizzlies as he delivered a strong line of 21 points, six rebounds, and five assists against the Sixers. The Heat point guard has been yo-yoing in between good and not-so-good fantasy games over his last seven games. If the trend holds true, he’s set for another underwhelming night against the Lakers. But his price tag remains very reasonable and his matchup against the fast-paced Lakers will be too good to pass up.

Also consider: De'Aaron Fox, Sacramento Kings vs Brooklyn Nets

Fox had his first above-average fantasy line in a while as he went for 13 points, eight assists, and three steals against the Blazers. In the four games prior, he had been a mix of average to slightly below-average in his production. But he couldn’t have asked for a better matchup to record back-to-back strong fantasy nights as he’s set to take on a Nets team surrendering the most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season.

SG – Dwyane Wade, Miami Heat vs Los Angeles Lakers

Wade turned back the clock with a vintage performance against the Sixers. He had 27 points – including 15 of the team’s last 17 points in the fourth – as well as three steals and a block to put together a very valuable fantasy line. It might be wishful thinking to ask for a similar line against the Lakers, but Wade could just pull it off. Wayne Ellington is doubtful to play with a thigh contusion and Tyler Johnson is also questionable with his own quad problem, so Wade could get a lot more playing time than expected.

Also consider: Jordan Clarkson, Cleveland Cavaliers vs Philadelphia 76ers

Clarkson hasn’t been much to write home about fantasy-wise ever since coming over to Cleveland. He has yet to exceed 24 minutes and isn’t getting a ton of looks. But with this limited slate, it might still be worthwhile to roll the dice on him turning in another big-time performance against the Sixers. In two games against them this season with the Lakers, he’s averaging 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, and 1.5 steals.

SF – LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers vs Philadelphia 76ers

Small forward is a bit of a wasteland tonight, so might as well spend the big bucks to get the sure thing that is LeBron. James reeled off his eighth game in a row with 50 or more fantasy points per FanDuel with a triple-double against the Nets. And speaking of triple-doubles, he’s close to averaging one against the Sixers. He’s put up 30.0 points, 13.5 rebounds, 9.5 assists, and 1.5 steals in two meetings against them this season, and it shouldn’t come as a shock if he manages to reach those numbers again.

Also consider: Justise Winslow, Miami Heat vs Los Angeles Lakers

Apart from two games against the Magic and more recently the Grizzlies, Winslow has been a non-factor fantasy-wise. However, he’s still been getting minutes starting at power forward, and a matchup against the Lakers’ porous defense seems like a chance for him to produce some outstanding value given his really cheap price.

PF – Zach Randolph, Sacramento Kings vs Brooklyn Nets

Randolph returned from his one-game absence with a vengeance as he dropped 20 points and six rebounds on his old team, the Blazers. He now has a terrific opportunity to make it back-to-back 20-point outings when he faces off with the Nets. Z-Bo has already bullied the Nets for 21 points and eight boards in their first meeting this season.

Also consider: Nemanja Bjelica, Minnesota Timberwolves vs Portland Trail Blazers

Bjelica is getting a lot more minutes following Jimmy Butler’s injury and he’s taking advantage of it. After a solid line of eight points, seven boards, and four assists against the Bulls, he went off for 12 points, eight boards, three assists, and four steals against the Kings. The Blazers have been susceptible to giving up big fantasy nights to opposing forwards, and Bjelica will have every opportunity to string together another strong game.

C – Willie Cauley-Stein, Sacramento Kings vs Brooklyn Nets

As if facing the Nets weren’t enough of a reason to pick Cauley-Stein, the Kings big man will also head into this matchup with Brooklyn in strong form. He’s averaging 17.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1.0 blocks over his last three games. It’d be a major disappointment if he didn’t capitalize on the Nets’ flimsy frontcourt defense to deliver a strong fantasy night.

Also consider: Hassan Whiteside, Miami Heat vs Los Angeles Lakers

Whiteside is slowly getting back to his best. He’s coming off a fine performance against the Sixers, where he posted a terrific line of 15 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, three blocks, and three steals. Whiteside has now hit at least 35 fantasy points per FanDuel seven times in his last eight games. He should be a decent bet to extend that run against a Lakers team that will give up its fair share of stats to opposing big men.
