FanDuel & DraftKings NBA Daily Picks: Fantasy lineup & advice 3/6/18

PG-Kemba Walker, Charlotte Hornets vs Philadelphia 76ers

Walker has continued to be very reliable for the Hornets even as their faint playoff hopes dwindle even more. Walker has reached 40-plus fantasy points in FanDuel in three of his last four games. That includes a 31-point outing against the Sixers at Philly last week. His chances of having a similarly productive game should be pretty high now that he goes back home.

Also consider: Austin Rivers, Los Angeles Clippers vs New Orleans Pelicans

Rivers has been terrific ever since he returned from a month-long layoff. He’s averaging 15.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists on 49 percent shooting in his last ten games, and is coming off a terrific 27-point, five-rebound outing against the Nets. Rivers will have another highly advantageous fantasy matchup to enjoy as he takes on his old team, the Pelicans, who are right behind Brooklyn in terms of giving up the most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season.

SG-Klay Thompson, Golden State Warriors vs Brooklyn Nets

Klay hasn’t quite been as consistent a fantasy player in recent weeks, but he’s still capable of providing decent value when he’s on. He should like his chances of being at his best against the Nets. One of Thompson’s two double-doubles this season came against Brooklyn as he had 23 points and ten rebounds, while also adding two steals and a block.

Also consider: Eric Gordon, Houston Rockets @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Speaking of being back to his best, Gordon has hit peak form immediately after returning from a four-game layoff. The Rockets guard has scored 51 points and hit 12 3-pointers over his last two games against the Clippers and Celtics. He’ll have a great opportunity to extend that little hot streak he has going on against Oklahoma City, who have struggled to defend shooting guards for most of the season.

SF-Harrison Barnes, Dallas Mavericks vs Denver Nuggets

Barnes has basically been a guaranteed source of around 27-40 fantasy points for the past few weeks. He’s reached that points range in FanDuel in seven of his last nine games. Given his impressive form of late, it’d be a surprise if he doesn’t extend that run against Denver. Barnes is averaging 20 points and seven boards in three meetings against the Nuggets this season.

Also consider: Allen Crabbe, Brooklyn Nets @ Golden State Warriors

Crabbe’s consistency has fallen off a bit lately following a blistering run entering the All-Star break. But after a disappointing six-point outing against the Clippers, Crabbe could be set for a bounce-back game against Golden State. Crabbe’s fantasy ceiling can be fairly high, as he showed in his first meeting with the Warriors when he dropped 25 points and seven rebounds.

PF-Paul Millsap, Denver Nuggets @ Dallas Mavericks

Millsap hasn’t wasn’t much time getting back in the groove of things since returning from a long injury layoff. In his three games back, he’s averaging 11.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.3 blocks in 25.6 minutes. His price tag is steadily rising as a result of his fine performances, so you’d better capitalize on him while he still has the potential to provide a ton of value.

Also consider: Kelly Olynyk, Miami Heat @ Washington Wizards

Olynyk has now strung together back-to-back strong games for the Heat. After a nice line of 17 points, five rebounds and four assists against the Pistons, Olynyk raised the bar even higher with 15 points, four boards, a career-high eight assists, and two steals in just 20 minutes against Phoenix. It’s obviously a gamble to expect quite the same level of production from Olynyk on the second night of a back-to-back, but he’s worth it given his relatively cheap price coupled with his undoubted upside.

C-Hassan Whiteside, Miami Heat @ Washington Wizards

Speaking of upside, Whiteside reached his for the first time in a long while as he burned the Suns for 24 points, 14 boards, three blocks, and two steals. Whiteside didn’t wear himself out too much, which means he should still be fresh to go on the second night of a back-to-back against the Wizards. Whiteside has been brilliant in two games against Washington this season, as he’s averaging 18.0 points, 18.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks.

Also consider: Jonas Valanciunas, Toronto Raptors vs Atlanta Hawks

After going on a bit of a lean spell since returning from the break, Valanciunas had his best outing in a while as he dropped 18 points, 13 rebounds, two blocks, and a steal against the Hornets. JV will now have the perfect matchup to help him build off of that confidence-boosting game as he takes on the Hawks. He’s averaging 15.0 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks in three meetings against Atlanta this season, which bodes well for his chances of doing just that.
