PG - Terry Rozier, Boston Celtics @ Milwaukee Bucks
Hardly anything seems to faze Rozier. Scary Terry has been terrific for the Celtics, putting up 23.0 points on 47 percent shooting with 3.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists through the first two games. The young Celtics will now be stepping into hostile territory, but if anyone looks like he can handle that pressure on the road, it’s likely Rozier.
And for a cheaper alternative at the point guard position, consider Delon Wright. The young Raptors guard has been playing amazing basketball, racking up nine stocks (steals and blocks) through two games. The possible return of Fred VanVleet to the rotation, coupled with normal regression, could see Wright’s numbers finally dip, but he still offers tremendous upside if he gets enough minutes.
SG - Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards vs Toronto Raptors
Beal is a proven playoff performer with a track record of raising his game when it matters. That’s why his showing in this year’s playoffs is so disappointing. It just seems unfathomable that he goes three straight games without even breaking 20 points. He should be out to redeem himself after his awful nine-point performance in Game 2. And if he finally starts to feel it, he has the potential to reach Victor Oladipo’s upside at a significantly lower price.
SF - LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers @ Indiana Pacers
After a triple-double in Game 1 and 46 points in Game 2, LeBron is showing once again that he is the surest thing in these playoffs. The Cavs are clearly a broken team that can’t function cohesively without LeBron carrying them all the way to the finish line. And since he’s LeBron, he’s probably going to do just that with another ridiculous stat line on the road.
PF - Mike Scott, Washington Wizards vs Toronto Raptors
Scott has been rock solid for the Wizards over the first two games against Toronto. The stretch-4 has hit 7-of-10 shots in 27 minutes in each of those two games as Marcin Gortat’s playing time has shrunk significantly. With the Wizards getting desperate, there could be a chance the Wiz go with Scott longer in order to cash in on his hot shooting. If so, then that could lead to some pretty decent value given his very cheap price.
C - Myles Turner, Indiana Pacers vs Cleveland Cavaliers
It’s basically down to Turner and Valanciunas in terms of affordable centers who have a shot at delivering a good fantasy night. JV was amazing in Game 2 with 19 points, 14 boards and three blocks in just 23 minutes. But the big fear with him is that he plays the same number of minutes and is nowhere near as effective. As maddeningly inconsistent as Turner has been this year, he’s at least been playing well against the Cavs and is playing 35 minutes per game, so that gives him the slight edge.
