NBA 2K19: 1998-1999 New York Knicks Player Ratings and Roster

This team came together during the offseason and put together a miracle postseason run. Through an injury and lockout-shortened, the team had to adjust to each other and barely squeezed in to the last playoff spot in the eastern conference. They were able to advance all the way to the Finals, where they would lose 1-4 to the Spurs.

Allan Houston, SG (OVR 83)

Traits: Offensive Star

Best Stats: Stamina, 3PT, Ball Handling

Houston was a featured offensive star on this team for a majority of this season. Houston averaged 16.3 points, 1.1 3-pointers made and 2.7 assists per game. He was one of only 2 players to start in 50 games during this season.

Marcus Camby, C (OVR 79)

Age: 25

Height: 6’11”

Traits: Elite Paint Protector

Best Stats: Blocks, Stamina, Rebounding

Camby provided bench depth during this season and only played around 20 minutes a night. With this height and rim protecting abilities, Camby averaged 7.2 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game.

Latrell Sprewell, SF (OVR 84) 

Age: 28

Height: 6’6”

Traits: Playmaking Finisher

Best Stats: Vertical, Layups, Lateral Quickness

Sprewell was the biggest offseason addition to this team, brought in via trade with the Warriors. Battling through injuries, he averaged 16.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.

Larry Johnson, PF (OVR 80) 

Age: 30

Height: 6’7”

Traits: Elite Low Post Star

Best Stats: Strength, Stamina, Vertical

Johnson was past his best seasons on the Hornets by the time he joined the Knicks. Regardless, he still showed his post presence with 12 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

Patrick Ewing, C (OVR 84) 

Age: 36

Height: 7’0”

Traits: Two-Way Center

Best Stats: Post Offense, Strength, Blocks

Patrick Ewing was still an all-star in the twilight of his career. This was shown during this season, as he averaged 17.3 points, 9.9 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game. Unfortunately, his playoff run was cut short when he suffered a partially torn achilles tendon in the eastern conference finals.
