NBA 2K22 Patch Notes: Day One Update leads with bug fixes today

NBA 2K22 has finally arrived, and of course that means it's already time for the Day One Update to plug some last minute fixes into the game.

We've got details on every update for NBA 2K22, Patch Notes, and more so you can keep up to date on what's changing in this year's game.

Every NBA 2K22 Update for PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S

With the game having just arrived at the official release time, we've only got a single NBA 2K22 update so far, and which version it is called likely depends on your platform.

As has been common for other titles like Madden 22 and MLB The Show 21, the Xbox systems and PlayStation systems seem to always use a different numbering system.

As such, the version you have for the title is likely to be different than it is on the other family of consoles, but the changes should remain the same unless otherwise noted.

Patch Notes for Version 2.0.0.8 (Day One Update)

There's always gotta be that old reliable Day One Update, and NBA 2K22 was no exception in this case.

The Day One Update triggered a little after the official release time, and seemed to activate on Xbox Series X|S around 2am ET.

It could've arrived with slightly different timing on other platforms, but it should be deployed on all of them by now.

The download file size also seems to vary between platform, coming in at just 851.52 MB on Xbox Series X|S for what is now Version 2.0.0.8, which downloaded very quickly.

While exact size isn't known, there are reports of it taking longer on PS5, upwards of 7 minutes, meaning there may have been more issues on PS5 in need of a remedy.

Unfortunately, we don't yet have any official patch notes for the Day One Update on NBA 2K22, and we may not get them from 2K and Visual Concepts.

They generally only do a full Courtside Report with detailed patch notes for lengthy updates featuring a variety of fixes and changes, something that is likely not to happen for this NBA 2K22 update.

While we don't officially know what's been remedied, it's safe to assume that final bug fixes were on the agenda to improve stability at launch.

We haven't gotten any reports yet on the size of the download file for current gen, but there are a few indicators why it could end up larger or smaller.

While current gen NBA 2K22 is missing big features like The City which will need some fixes, the developers did seem to prioritize next gen this year, so current gen could have had more issues slip through the cracks.
