share to other networks share to twitter share to facebook

The Wizards have been stuck in NBA purgatory for a number of seasons now, not good enough to really challenge for a title but not bad enough to get any decent picks. With Wall and Beal in the backcourt they will once again be a solid team, but can they take another step? Regardless, they will be a fun team to play with on NBA Live 19 - check out all the details of their team here.

John Wall, PG, 90

Age: 28

Position: PG

Height: 6’4’’

Playstyle: Slasher

Best stats: 99 Speed, 98 Court Vision, 97 Defensive Awareness

John Wall missed large portions of last season with injury, but when he was on the floor he was as impactful as ever, averaging 19.4 points, 9.6 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. An elite athlete and passer, the major flaw in his game is his shooting - though his 37.1% from downtown last season was the highest number of his career.

Bradley Beal, SG, 87

Age: 25

Position: SG

Height: 6’5’’

Playstyle: Wing Shooter

Best stats: 94 Stamina, 91 Shot off Dribble, 90 Driving Layup

Beal had another impressive campaign in 2017/18, averaging 22.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.2 steals. One of the best shooters in the game, Beal also showed his wares as a facilitator, something he was forced to do in the absence of Wall.

Otto Porter Jr, SF, 83

Age: 25

Position: SF

Height: 6’8’’

Playstyle: Wing Shooter

Best stats: 94 Stamina, 90 Mid-Range Shot, 89 3-point Shot

Porter Jr has developed into an important player for the Wizards in his five years there. A good defender and excellent 3-point shooter, he has progressively improved his numbers in virtually every statistical category each season, and in 2017/18 averaged 14.7 points while shooting 44.1% from downtown, 6.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals - all of which are the best numbers of his career.

Markieff Morris, PF, 80

Age: 29

Position: PF

Height: 6’10’’

Playstyle: Post Anchor

Best stats: 88 Stamina, 86 Strength, 85 Mid-Range Shot

Markieff Morris will enter his fourth season with the Wizards in 2018/19, and his ninth season in the NBA. A solid rotational player, last season he averaged 11.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game, playing predominantly as an outside threat on the offensive end and a solid defender capable of defending numerous positions on defense.

Dwight Howard, C, 85

Age: 32

Position: C

Height: 6’11’’

Playstyle: Rim Protector

Best stats: 95 Strength, 94 Post Moves, 91 Rebounding

The once dominant Dwight Howard will play for his fourth team in four years in 2018/19, hoping to replace a center in Marcin Gortat who had reportedly fallen out with point guard John Wall. Though he is past his best, Howard can still be a valuable interior presence. Perhaps the most interesting thing about his season, however, will be seeing how his personality - which seems to have raised the ire of many former teammates - meshes with what is an already a volatile Wizards locker room.
