Brighton 1-0 Manchester United: 5 things we learned

For Brighton it meant safety, and for Manchester United, it meant very little. That was perhaps clear in the way they played.

Jose Mourinho's side were second best and could have no complaints when they left the pitch with nothing.

The game was decided just before the hour mark when Pascal Gross, outstanding for Brighton this season and a fitting match winner on this occasion, headed Jose Izquierdo's cross towards goal. It was hooked away by Marcos Rojo but the ball had already crossed the line.

There was no way back for the visitors, who remain second but were blunt and ineffective on the south coast. Here are five things we learned.
