Tottenham vs Watford: 3 Key Battles

When Tottenham beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier this month, it felt like their place in the top four was all but guaranteed. They were eight points clear of their rivals and appeared, in almost all areas, far superior.

Now, though, that gap is down to two points. Chelsea's victory at Swansea has put the pressure on Spurs, who have taken just a point from their last two Premier League games: defeat against Manchester City was followed by a disappointing draw at Brighton.

A win against Watford on Monday night, then, is crucial. It would restore Tottenham's lead over Chelsea to five points and leave them in control in the race for Champions League qualification.

Watford, meanwhile, have seen their season peter out after a promising start. The Hornets have failed to win any of their last six league games, although relegation is unlikely to be a concern given the number of sides below them.

Javi Gracia's side will be clear underdogs at Wembley, and they will need to improve significantly on recent performances if they are to leave with anything other than a heavy defeat.

Here are three key battles that could decide the outcome of the game.
