How to Save in New Pokemon Snap on Switch


New Pokemon Snap is finally out on Nintendo Switch, letting you take photos of hundreds of Pokemon.

Along the way, you'll need to send photos to the professor and save them to your album, so you'll want to save your game to keep your progress.

How to Save in New Pokemon Snap

Saving Progress

Waiting for the game to save automatically is the only way to save your game in New Pokemon Snap.

At the end of course tours, after saving photos to your album, and after following tutorial segments is when the game will save.

If you quit the game during a level, you will lose any progress from that level. Therefore, get to the end of it whether you've got any good pictures or not.

Look for the moving circle icon in the top right of the screen, as you can see in the screenshot below, as that is what will show when New Pokemon Snap is saving.

How to Save Your Photos

At the end of each level, after your photos have been appraised, you'll be able to save any you particularly like to an album to look at later.

You'll see two signpost option, one taking you back to camp, and the other letting you save your pictures. Select the latter option.

Alternatively, you can open up any pictures you took and use the screenshot button on your Switch controller.

It'll still have the in-game camera overlay on it, but you will be able to save them to your Switch's hard drive or SD card to look at later or post on social media.
