Counting Down to Nintendo Direct E3 2021

The Nintendo Direct E3 Showcase is one of the biggest Nintendo events of the year. We can expect to see updates on the latest games and whole new announcements.

Latest - Nintendo Direct Coming Tonight

Luckily, we're mere hours away from the Direct itself. Who knows what could show up tonight?

The show will contain roughly 40 minutes of info dedicated exclusively to Nintendo Switch hardware.

Nintendo E3 2021 Start Time and Date

The Nintendo Direct will take place this year at 9 am PT / 5 pm BST on Tuesday, June 15th this year.

As the event is entirely digital, there's always a chance we could see some technical difficulties so if it doesn't start at this time, just give it a few moments and it should start. Check out the site here to watch it yourself.

Confirmed Games

We don't actually have much information on what we can expect to see from Nintendo this year. This being said, we can expect updates on some of the bigger games and a recent leak hints at something else. A new Mario + Rabbids game leaked via the official Nintendo site and was shown at the Ubisoft conference. We could perhaps see an update here.

As well as this, we can expect to at least see hints from Breath of the Wild 2, a handful of Pokemon games and maybe even a hint at some of those long-dormant franchises.

What We Want To See

We ask every year but maybe it's finally time to see Metroid Prime 4. Announced four years ago, it's already been in development for a long time.

Alongside this theme, Bayonetta 2 came out almost 7 years ago so we should see some updates here. Outside of sequels and remakes, it would be great to see something totally new.

Maybe it's time for Nintendo to explore a brand new IP. They have been pretty decent at this over the last few years so it makes sense they would continues down this path.

With new projects like Ring Fit Adventure, Arms and Game Builder Garage over the last few years, this is a field that has worked for them. Hopefully, they continue to do this. Nintendo flourishes when they're creative, this will help.
