Finally the wait is over; Pokemon Unite is coming to mobile phones tomorrow and TiMi Studios has prepared big surprises to celebrate the new 1.1.1.8 update with some big drops in its patch notes.

New Pokemon, pre-registration rewards, and the first steps for a competitive scene are all featured in the Pokemon Unite 1.1.1.8 patch notes.

So let's dive in.

Release Date

The Pokemon Unite 1.1.1.8 update and mobile launch goes live on September 22nd, 2021.

For players who need to clear some space on their Switch and Mobile, we have good news: the file size of the update is relatively small.

  • Nintendo Switch - 1.4 GB
  • iOS - 1.5 GB
  • Android - Device dependent around 1.5-2 GB

New Pokemon

As part of the original announcement of Pokemon Unite launching for Mobile, TiMi Studios said that Sylveon and Mamoswine are new Pokemon coming to the game.

Despite that we don't have an official release date, trainers have a glimpse of their abilities in the trailer for the Mobile Version.

Galactic Ghost 094

Simultaneously with the mobile version, Pokemon Unite's new Battle Pass, Galactic Ghost 09 is debuting on September 22nd as well.

Players will need to complete both daily and weekly missions to raise their battle pass level and receive rewards based on that level.

Pre-registration Rewards

Pokemon Unite can flex that over 9 million players have pre-registered for the iOS and Android versions.

In celebration of the big moment, every Trainer who completes the in-game event in the mobile version of Pokémon UNITE by Sunday, October 31, 2021 will receive:

  • 1,000 Aeos tickets
  • The Unite license for Pikachu
  • Special Festival Style Holowear for Pikachu

Pokemon Unite Squads

MOBAs are well known for being pioneers in the growth of a competitive e-sports scene. DOTA 2 and LOL World Tournaments Finals have audiences as big as the Super Bowl - and the genre continues to grow.

Pokemon Unite, despite being very casual, is making the first step for their own e-sports competition. A new feature, Unite squads, will be added to both the Nintendo Switch and mobile versions this Wednesday, September 22nd.

Trainers can create their own squads or search existing ones to join and connect with other players.

Additionally, the game will bring new and cool Holowears (Skins), something that players are always looking forward to picking up more of.
