eFootball 2022 is the first ever free-to-play football game and you can get your hands on it now.
It looks like the game has been released slightly earlier than first thought with the download now available.
Latest - Download eFootball now
Originally, we thought eFootball 2022 was set to be released at 12:30pm ET / 5:30pm BST / 6:30pm CET.
However, the download is available now, so what are you waiting for?
eFootball 2022 will release on Thursday, 30 September.
Those who have pre-ordered the Premium Player pack can pre-install the game already - but bear in mind that all the content in the pre-order offer cannot be redeemed until 11 November when the game is fleshed out.
eFootball 2022 File Size
Judging by the official Steam page, eFootball 2022 will take up around 50GB of memory.
We will update this page as soon as the known download size is revealed on the various consoles.
eFootball 2022 Launch Teams
Only a handful of clubs will be available at launch to play with, and we aren't even sure what game modes will be available.
The confirmed teams so far are:
- Bayern Munich
- Manchester United
- Sao Paulo
- River Plate
Cross-gen matches will also be supported, but cross-platform will now arrive until November.
eFootball will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Mobile - as it follows the likes of Fortnite and Apex Legends on being fully cross-platform, with Nintendo Switch the only major console missing.
At launch, it looks like only Local Matches and online friendlies will be available to play, as the game is slowly rolled out.
In the autumn (with 11 November the suspected release date), online leagues will commence, as well as the new team-building mode (formerly MyClub), as well as cross-play between Xbox, PlayStation and PC as well as the new match pass system so you can rank up and gain rewards.
In the winter, the official esports tournament commences, mobile joins crossplay and controller support arrives for mobile devices.
We do know an offline-mode DLC will appear at some stage, featuring PES classic modes Master League and presumably Become a Legend - but a release date and price is yet to be revealed.
We also know eFootball will supprt the use of Option Files on PlayStation and PC, but we don't know at what stage of release they can be uses.
