eFootball Championship: Konami announces 'open to all' tournament for June 2022

The re-launch of eFootball has gone much more smoothly for Konami this time around with the release of Update V1.0.0 and Season 1 in the game.

Konami has now announced plans for the 2022 eFootball Championship, for both professional gamers and your average Joe!

The new tournament will be competed in the new Dream Team game mode, offering you the chance to take your team to the very top.

KONAMI announced that the official eSports competition using eFootball 2022, "eFootball Championship 2022" will be held in June.

“eFootball Championship 2022” is an esports competition open to many different players, ranging from beginners to the elite.

"Since the renaming of the game to "eFootball", we have also renamed this competition “eFootball Championship” – formerly known as "eFootball League".

There will be two competitions held, with the eFootball Championship Pro 2022 open to professional players contracted with professional clubs.

The other competition will be the eFootball Championship Open 2022, which is an esports competition in which players of all abilities will be able to participate.

Both professional players in “eFootball Championship Pro” and regular players in the “eFootball Championship Open” will be competing via the new game mode “Dream Team”.

Championship details

The eFootball Championship Pro 2022 will launch in June, with more details in regards to participating clubs and the schedule of both competitions in a later announcement.

Professional players will be selected from the world's top players and will compete 1v1 within eFootball 2022’s new mode “Dream Team” to win the league.

All the games will be streamed online all over the world.

For the eFootball Championship Open 2022, qualifying will start in June 2022.

The eFootball Championship Open 2022 will be the largest official eSports tournament using the eFootball 2022 series in which users all over the world can participate.

Utilising the “Dream Team” game mode, the top-scoring players will earn the right to participate in higher and higher levels of the competition, culminating in “World Finals”, in which the No.1 player will be crowned. The world finals will be streamed online all over the world.

What is Dream Team?

“Dream Team” is the brand-new game mode where users can build an original team by signing players and managers.

Users can also make use of in-game items (e.g. GP that users can acquire by playing different in-game matches), and competing against others users from around the world.

Users can also develop and strengthen their players to match individual playstyles, as well as organising their team through signing and developing players.
