eFootball 2022 Unreal Engine: Does the new game use version 4 or 5?


eFootball 2022 is here and boy has there been a lot of talk surrounding the new game!

Konami is finally getting the game into shape with some upcoming updates, so here's everything you need to know about eFootball on Unreal Engine.

eFootball 2022's Pre Order bundle, which was released last month, included some key dates which are now just around the corner for the new game.

The pre-order bundle's advertisement has shown that the full game is set to be released over a month after the original date, on Thursday, 11 November.

The image also above shows that the eFootball coins will not be usable until Thursday, 18 November, which means that MyClub will arrive on this date.

Unreal Engine 5

If it is in fact Unreal Engine 5, then that is massive news for PES players.

Bringing Holywood movie graphics to the gaming industry, Unreal Engine 5 is set to provide us with the best console graphics to date.

The above walkthrough was showcased in May 2020, and shows the influence of lighting (Lumite) can have on Unreal Engine 5's graphics.

The other core feature is Nanite, allowing for high-detailed photographic source material to be imported into games.

So imagine getting a very different feel when playing at Barcelona's Camp Nou during the day, at sunset and under the floodlights.

Not only that, but Unreal Engine will also improve how humans look in video games.

Another video released in February 2021, shows us how realistic "digital humans" will appear.

If we get this level of details in the players in eFootball then we're in for quite a showing.

This feature is not exclusive to Unreal Engine 5 either, so even if eFootball is on UE4, it will receive a graphics lift.

Which version of Unreal Engine will be used?

In a hands-on question and answer session, the engine that eFootball 2022 will be running on has been confirmed.

Konami has announced that eFootball 2022 will use Unreal Engine 4.

Platforms

Despite Unreal Engine 5 being designed for Next Gen consoles, it will still be supported on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Don't expect the previous gen consoles to have the same level of detail, however.
