Sackboy: A Big Adventure could be coming to Steam Soon

It has now been a year and a half since the current generation of consoles have arrived. In that time, we've seen tonnes of game launches and so much hype. Sackboy: A Big Adventure was forgotten very quick into the PS5's life cycle and some recent news may mean we'll see it again.

Sackboy: A Big adventure could be coming to Steam

According to a recent leak, Sackboy: A Big Adventure could be coming to Steam. Over on Reddit, user AnotherGibaway pointed out that the SteamDB for Sackboy: A Big Adventure has recently seen an update. It has received a few files and edits.

Updated only a few days ago, one user pointed out that the new package is compatible with Steamworks, essentially meaning it is specifically designed to operate alongside Steam's community features. This is something generally only done later in the development cycle of the game.

It doesn't make sense to optimise something for online use if the game itself could rapidly change before launch. It seems likely this points at a full release sometime soon. This being said, always take this kind of information with a pinch of salt.

What is SteamDB?

SteamDB is a database of changes made to titles on Steam. This refers to both currently live games and those just in the works. If something changes, it means the team have updated the files on Steam itself.

These are generally done to gear up to a launch or save some semblance of a new version of the game on file. Updating can come with their own risks of new leaks so a publisher will only do it when it makes sense to do so.

With PlayStation regular collaborating with Steam now and a handful of their games already on PC, it opens the doors to so much more. This potential release could breathe new life into a launch title that probably didn't get the love it deserves. We'll update you right here with new information as it comes in
