Well, the answer to this question is a little bit more complicated than you'd expect it to be, as has become the case with the new PS Plus system.

In short, yes, God of War Ragnarok will be available via your PS Plus subscription but not in the way you're probably thinking.

One of the big talking points for the brand new three-tiered system of PS Plus was whether or not day-one releases will be a key selling point like it is with Xbox Game Pass.

Unfortunately, Sony decided against day-one releases as a major part of the service, with only one day-one release currently being added to the platform since the new tiers were released. That honour goes to Annapurna's popular Stray.

So how can you play God of War Ragnarok with PS Plus? Well, the answer to that comes in the Premium tier.

One of the major selling points of the highest tier of the new PS Plus system was the ability to play extended game demos of some of the major titles available on PS5 and this is where God of War Ragnarok comes in.

Major AAA first-party titles are prioritised for this feature, so Ragnarok will without a doubt be included in the service, letting you play a portion of the game with your PS Plus subscription before having to buy the full game.

It's not ideal but if you don't want to fully commit to the purchase straight away or have to wait a little longer before jumping into the game with Kratos and Atreus, it could be worth a try.
