As Reported by many industry insiders, the leaks show a brand new reveal trailer for the game that displays a release date of September 9th, 2022 along with a look at the game's enhanced graphics. While it has been a heavily reported fact the remake was in development, the announcement of it was a surprise, especially with recent reports surrounding a potential God of War Ragnarök delay from a rumoured September date.

Will The Last of Us Remake be on PC?

One of the bigger surprises from this reveal was the mention of a PC port for the game also being in development. When asked about it at Summer Game Fest, Director Neil Druckmann said that the game would launch on PS5 and PC "shortly there after" so it's possible that the date will be 2022

The announced availability marks the latest in a continued push for PC ports of PlayStation titles, with popular games like Marvel's Spider-Man, Returnal and even God of War all making the jump over.

This could also suggest that the push for PC will also be seeing The Last of Us Part II make the jump from console exclusivity, with both titles allowing the full story to be experienced by a totally new audience.

Also surprising is the game's decision to be next-gen only according to this trailer, skipping over the past generation to only be available on PS5.
