The latest title to be found on Next Gen is Forza Horizon 4.

The game is a true testament to open-world racing, featuring a host of cars.

On the latest consoles however, it seems the game has been downgraded in certain areas.

Let's take a look at how the game differs on the Xbox Series X and S now!

FH4 on Next Gen

The game has arrived on the Xbox Series X, and is a far cry from the Xbox one X.

The main upgrade is the 4K60 capabilities and increased visual fiedlity on most textures.

FAST AND SLEEK: FH4 features a variety of incredible cars

The game looks incredible, especially on the latest 4K monitors and TVs, and runs incredibly smoothly.

On the Series S, the game runs with the same visual quality, just in a 1080p resolution.

The difference is obvious when compared side by side on Next Gen, as the 1080p can't quite compete with the 4K of the Series X.

Another upgrade is the loading times, as the game boots from the main menu to the open world in just 18.5 seconds on the Series X.

Downgrades on Next Gen

However, it isn't all plain sailing for Forza Horizon 4 on the Series X and S.

With the latest version of Forza Horizon 4, the various graphical modes have been removed.

EXPLORING: The open world setting is breathtaking

This gives players less of an opportunity to control their game, as the 4K30 Quality Mode previously seen on the One series is gone.

This has led to a number of awkward visual issues.

For example, SSAO has been removed, making shadowed areas look flat and very plain.

Similarly, third-person models refresh at a low 30fps, whereas the rest of the screen continues to refresh at 60fps.

This doesn't lead to too many issues, however, it is interesting to see any downgrades at all.

UPDATES: The game is consistently updated with new vehicles!

Given the massive CPU and GPU upgrade of the Series X and S over the One X and S, we are not sure why there had to be any downgrades.

Hopefully these are simply launch issues, and will be addressed soon.
