The potential design of the Manchester United third kit for the 2022/23 season has been revealed, leaving many fans wondering when adidas might announce a release date.
The design emerged shortly after Manchester United's 2022/23 home kit leaked online which has drawn several comparisons to some of the best retro football kits of the past thanks to its new chevron collar.
While the home kit may be reminiscent of Manchester United shirts from yesteryear, the design of the new third kit is more in keeping with the current crop of football jerseys.

Manchester United Third Kit 2022/23 Release Date
As the 2021/22 Premier League season and all cup competitions are still ongoing, we don't expect the Manchester United third strip to be released any time soon.
However, we can predict that the new kit will arrive at some point in August this year based on the release date of the current third strip which arrived on 12 August 2021.

Manchester United Third Kit 2022/23 Design
The potential design for Manchester United's latest kit has been inspired by the recently leaked image of a jumper due to feature as part of the club's third strip collection.
The navy base is teamed with a chevron, zig-zag pattern around the collar dressed in neon yellow to match the small United and adidas logo on the left-hand side.
Footy Headlines then took this colour scheme and put together a mock-up render of what the Manchester United third kit might look like.
The design is essentially the inverse of the club's current blue and yellow kit, with the neon yellow hue acting as the base layer for the navy blue accents dressing the sponsor, branding, and the usual adidas three-stripes across the sleeves.
We feel the closest comparison to this Manchester United third strip is the Chelsea away kit from the 2007/08 season that incorporated a very similar colour scheme and design which, coincidently, was also manufactured by adidas.
It's worth keeping in mind though that this is just a mock-up, so it may not be completely accurate to the final third kit design. You'll have to wait for an official announcement from the club for that information.
