When are the 2022/23 EFL League One fixtures released?


The 2021/22 EFL League One season has drawn to a close, with Sunderland the third and final team to book their place in the Championship for the 2022/23 campaign.

Their play-off final victory over Wycombe Wanderers means the 24 teams competing in League One next season are now confirmed, with the competition shaping up to be one of the most competitive we've ever seen.

Here is everything you need to know about the fixture schedule for the upcoming campaign.

2022/23 EFL League One Release Date

The EFL League One fixture list for the 2022/23 season will be released on Thursday, June 23rd.

The initial fixture list is expected to be announced at around 8am GMT, with fixtures subject to change due to television coverage and cup involvement.

2022/23 EFL League One Key Dates

Unlike the Premier League and EFL Championship, the League One campaign will NOT be halted due to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

However, despite no official stoppage being implemented, teams who have three or more first-team players missing from their matchday squad can request to have a fixture postponed until a later date.

The EFL League One season will begin as normal on July 30th, with the regular season drawing to a close on May 6th, 2023.

All eyes will then look toward the League One Play-Offs, with the final due to be held at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, May 28th, 2023.
