LATEST: Mattia Binotto resigns from Ferrari

Ferrari have today confirmed that team principal Mattia Binotto has resigned from his position and will leave the team at the end of the 2022 Formula 1 season.

Binotto oversaw the development of a race-winning car for 2021, but Ferrari struggled to keep up with Red Bull in the development race and were ultimately let down by reliability issues and strategy errors.

The search for a new team principle is underway with news surfacing that Ferrari had previously approached Christian Horner and Andreas Seidl with both approaches proving ultimately unsuccessful.

Audi confirms F1 entry for 2026

Audi have confirmed their long-awaited F1 entry with the legendary German manufacturers set to join the sport for the start of the 2026 season.

The news has been long expected since rumours of Porsche and Audi making the jump to F1 surfaced earlier in the season.

This revelation does sadly mean the end of the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team from the 2026 season onwards with Fred Vasseur's outfit being the subject of the takeover.

Nelson Piquet barred from F1 paddock

Former F1 world champion Nelson Piquet has been banned from the F1 paddock following the emergence of an interview in which he racially abused Lewis Hamilton.

The F1 community immediately acted to condemn the words of Piquet with most teams on the grid having made statements in support of the seven-time world champion.

Piquet will now be barred from entering the F1 paddock on race weekends and has been shunned from the sport's community

Audi set to partner with Sauber for 2026 F1 entry

According to reports from the Swiss outlet Blick, Audi are pushing to partner with Sauber to secure their entry for the 2026 Formula 1 season.

Andretti, Porsche and Audi have all been linked with Formula 1 entries in the past year and the latter have been making moves to secure their involvement in the sport.

Audi attempted to take over the McLaren Formula 1 team last season and have now set their sights on the Alfa Romeo Sauber team for their 2026 entry.

Alfa Romeo came close to selling their share of the Sauber team last season amid serious interest from Andretti, who already compete in IndyCar among other series, and it looks like their involvement in F1 will end in 2026 with serious talks ongoing between Audi and Sauber.

Red Bull suspend junior driver Jüri Vips

Red Bull Racing has suspended Estonian driver Jüri Vips with immediate effect following an incident in which the young driver used a racial slur while streaming online.

Vips had taken part in a Formula 1 Free Practice session for Red Bull earlier this season but has now seen his prospects of an F1 career go up in smoke.

A full investigation into the incident will be taking place to determine the severity of the incident.

Spa-Francorchamps could be off the calendar in 2023

Reports are surfacing that the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit could run its final F1 race this season with the Belgian Grand Prix set to be axed for the 2023 calendar.

New races in Qatar and Las Vegas, as well as the rumoured return of South Africa's Kyalami Circuit have put pressure on Spa's place on the calendar with Belgium and France both in danger of losing their Grand Prix.

Spa-Francorchamps has long been one of F1's most beloved circuits with the Eau Rouge/Radillon chicane being arguably the most iconic corner in Formula 1.
