F2 Qualifying Results: Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

F2 heads into its final weekend for 2022 on Friday when the drivers battle it out for pole position at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Championship leader Felipe Drugovich enjoyed his first F1 outing earlier in the morning when he drove FP1 for Aston Martin, but he couldn't claim pole position for Sunday's feature race as Ayumu Iwasa took top spot in the timing sheets.

Here are the F2 qualifying results from Friday's session ahead of the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

Ayumu Iwasa and Roy Nissany both rose to the top of the timing sheets on their final flying laps on Friday before Zane Maloney, making his F2 debut, span out in sector 3, resulting in a red flag.

F2 Sprint Race Grid: Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

With the qualifying order decided, we can now look forward to Saturday's Sprint Race.

Richard Verschoor took tenth place in Friday's qualifying session and will therefore line up on reverse-grid pole on Saturday, joined on the front row by Liam Lawson.

Amaury Cordeel secured a career-best F2 grid position when he crossed the line in P8, securing third place on the grid for Saturday's sprint race.
