As we head towards the Winter months, Super Eagles fans are wondering whether Nigeria will be playing at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Is Nigeria in the Qatar 2022 World Cup?

Nigeria has not yet officially qualified for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament.

The Super Eagles will face Ghana, their West African arch-rivals, in the 2022 FIFA World Cup play-off.

Ghana will have home advantage first in a tie that will consist of two legs, with the aggregate winners securing a place at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The next round of World Cup qualifiers takes place from Thursday, 24 March to Tuesday, 29 March.

Scotland, Wales and Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal must also go through the play-offs.

Who has already qualified?

As hosts, Qatar received automatic qualification to the tournament and as stated previously the opening game will feature the host nation.

Four-time World Cup winners Germany were the first team to guarantee a spot through the qualification process in Europe.

Brazil, the most successful national team in World Cup history with five trophies, secured swift qualification as one of the top four teams in South America's groups.

England already secured their place back in November by topping their qualifying group.
