Mick Beale's QPR departure: As it happened

Mick Beale was largely an unknown name to Championship fans before the summer with the 42-year-old having worked under Steven Gerrard during his time at Rangers and Aston Villa.

Those who worked closely with Beale attributed most of Gerrard's managerial success to date to his influence behind the scenes, and the evidence following his departure from Villa Park supports that fact.

After 15 games at Loftus Road, Beale was approached by Premier League club Wolves to replace Bruno Lage but turned down the opportunity on the grounds of loyalty to QPR.

That loyalty seems to have faded now though with Beale set to return to his former club Rangers to take over as head coach.
