Ainsworth's Wycombe departure: As it happened

Gareth Ainsworth first stepped into the Wycombe dugout in 2012 with the club languishing in the depths of League 2, but 11 years later Ainsworth leaves the club as a legend.

Ainsworth, who closed out his playing career with Wycombe too after joining the club in 2010, led the club to multiple against-the-odds promotions with the pinnacle of his success culminating in a 1-0 play-off final win against Oxford United.

But Ainsworth is also a club legend at QPR. The now-49-year-old made almost 150 appearances for the club between 2003 and 2010 and has often been linked with the vacant managerial position at Loftus Road down the years.

With Neil Critchley ousted following a dismal start to life in west London, the time has finally come for Ainsworth to bid farewell to Wycombe and take charge at QPR.
