When does the 2022/23 Premier League season start?


The opening day of the 2022/23 Premier League season is now less than a month away with teams across the division starting to tie up their major transfer deals for the summer.

Manchester City and Liverpool have both made marquee signings with Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez making big-money switches respectively, while Spurs and Arsenal have moved quickly to make smart additions to their squads.

At the other end of the table, Championship play-off final winners Nottingham Forest have turned heads with their ambitious early recruitment, while Fulham have also been linked with some impressive names as they look to avoid a speedy return to the second tier.

2022/23 Premier League Opening Day Fixtures

The new Premier League season kicks off on Friday, August 5th as Arsenal travel to Crystal Palace. The Gunners were beaten 2-0 on the road by Premier League new boys Brentford on the opening day of the 2021/22 season and will be hoping to avoid a similar fate here.
