One of darts' premier events will return this week as the best players in Europe prepare for the 2022 BoyleSports European Championship.

Rob Cross is the current holder of the competition after he beat the legendary Michael van Gerwen 11-8 in the final, and the Briton is the fourth seed for this Autumn's tournament.

Many of the sport's biggest names will be participating at the 2022 edition of the European Championship with Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright, Michael Smith and Gerwyn Price among the 32 players competing.

When is the 2022 Darts European Championship?

The competition will start on Thursday, October 27th with the first-round matches being played across Thursday and Friday of this week.

The second round will take place on Saturday, October 29th, with all eight second-round matchups decided on this date.

Sunday will be the key date for the competition. The remaining quarter-final and semi-final matches will all be played on Sunday, October 30th, as well as the grand final of the 2022 European Championship.
