Who is Benjamin Bonzi?

Benjamin Bonzi is a 26-year-old French tennis player who heads into the 2022 US Open ranked 50th in the men's singles rankings.

He heads into this summer's tournament off the back of recent defeats to Botic van de Zandschulp and John Isner in Winston-Salem and Cincinnati respectively.

The Frenchman beat his fellow countryman Ugo Humbert in five sets on his way to the second round, throwing away a two-set lead on his way to an eventual 6-2 final set win.

Bonzi is yet to make it past the second round of a Grand Slam competition this season, reaching the second round in Australia and at Wimbledon before eventual defeats to Karen Khachanov and Jenson Brooksby.
