There will be a new face on the F1 grid for the 2023 season after Williams announced that Logan Sargeant will be their new driver, pending the required super license points.

The American will replace Nicholas Latifi alongside Alex Albon in the second Williams seat after an impressive debut season in Formula 2.

Sargeant got his first taste of F1 machinery at the United States Grand Prix and will have two more FP1 outings before the season closes out, appearing in Mexico and Abu Dhabi.

With the American starlet coming to the grid in 2023, here is everything you need to know about Logan Sargeant.

Who is Logan Sargeant?

Logan Sargeant is a 21-year-old American racing driver, hailing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The Williams academy driver was singled out for his considerable talent during his time in F3, with Sargeant impressing while driving for PREMA in 2020.

Sargeant headed into the final round of the 2020 F3 season with a shot at the title, but an ill-fated final two rounds saw him slip to third in the standings, just behind 2021 F2 champion Oscar Piastri and Alfa Romeo junior driver Theo Pourchaire.

An absence of funding saw Logan Sargeant miss out on a shot at F2 in 2021, but with backing from Williams, he was teamed up with Liam Lawson at Carlin for the 2022 F2 season.

A solid rookie F2 campaign has followed and with extra super license points coming from the three FP1 outings for Williams, a seventh-place finish in the F2 standings will see Logan Sargeant drive in Formula 1 next season.
