Daniil Medvedev returns to action in the 2022 US Open on Saturday morning as he takes on Wu Yibing for a place in the fourth round of this year's men's singles competition.

The World No.1 has enjoyed a comfortable run through the US Open so far, cruising past Stefan Kozlov and Arthur Rinderknech on his way to this third-round match against underdog Wu Yibing.

Here is everything you need to know about the Chinese player ahead of his eye-catching clash with Medvedev.

Who is Wu Yibing?

Wu Yibing is a Chinese tennis player who is currently ranked 174th on the men's singles ladder. He became the first Chinese man to reach the third round of the US Open since 1881 when he booked his ticket to take on Daniil Medvedev.

The 22-year-old has also sprung one major upset at the US Open, beating Georgia's Nikoloz Basilashvili in straight sets in the opening round of the tournament before beating Nuno Borges in the second round.

Wu was the lesser fancied of the two Chinese representatives at the 2022 US Open with Zhang Zhizhen the more established of the pair, but his fellow countryman was subjected to a first-round shock by Tim van Rijthoven.
