Will Andy Murray play at Wimbledon 2022?

Andy Murray is one of British tennis' most iconic figures and the 35-year-old Scot will likely make his Wimbledon return this summer.

The world number 67 skipped the ongoing French Open tournament to focus on his preparation on grass ahead of what could be his last shot at tennis' most famous championship.

Will Andy Murray Play At Wimbledon 2022?

Murray is currently competing in the Surbiton Trophy on the Challenger circuit, setting up a quarter-final clash with Brandon Nakashima after claiming victories over Jurij Rodionov and Gijs Brouwer in the first two rounds.

The two-time Wimbledon champion will then head to the Queen's Club Championship; a tournament he has won on a record five occasions.

Murray may have been beaten in the third round of Wimbledon in 2021, but the popular Scot will take some confidence from the resurgent performance of his fellow veterans in the recent French Open.

Rafael Nadal has turned heads at the Roland-Garros tournament after setting up a semi-final clash with Alexander Zverev with victory in four sets against world number 1 and Wimbledon ante-post favourite Novak Djokovic.

On the other side of the tournament tree, 33-year-old Croat Marin Cilic has made it to his first-ever French Open semi-final having dropped to 23rd in the world rankings.

These results will serve as inspiration for the now 35-year-old Murray, who will hope to make a splash at a tournament that holds a special place in his heart. Murray become the first male British player to win Wimbledon since Fred Perry in 1936 when he beat Novak Djokovic in straight sets in 2013.
