Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Sequel reported to launch next year

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was a little bit of a surprise hit way back in 2019. Though Respawn Entertainment is an impressive team, they hadn't yet proven themselves with this type of game. The recent news of its sequel proves they're up to the task once more. Here's what we know about Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order so far.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 Release Date

As originally reported by Jeff Grubb in his Giant Bomb show Grubbsnax and then transcribed by VGC, the follow up to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is planned to release at some point in 2023. It will be exclusive to the new generation to take advantage of its hardware. About this, he said:

“Star Wars Jedi 2 is going to be new-gen only, where it’s PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and then of course PC,”

Also reported and transcribed by VGC, Jeff Grubb said:

“One of the reasons that they’re going to be able to do that is because it’s not coming out until 2023. This game is for sure now not coming out until 2023.”

The future of Star Wars

This focus on the next generation is very telling for the game. It will probably be quite expansive and impressive. This being said, there's a big focus on Star Wars video games over the next few years. Alongside the recent launch of the fantastic LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, we know there are currently three Star Wars projects in the works. Assuming that the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel does well, we can only expect even more Star Wars games in the future.

It seems clear there is a dedicated market ready for them, it's just up to a few good developers to make sure fans get what they're looking for. If any updates come out, we will update you right here.
