Leveled and geared up, World of Warcraft: Dragonflight players are ready for the expansion's first season, Dragonflight Season 1 with all of its PvE and PvP goodness. Partaking in that PvE is the game's first set of Mythic+ dungeons coupled with its own seasonal affix, Thundering.

Ever since the Battle for Azeroth expansion—following the introduction of the feature in Legion—the developers over at Blizzard Entertainment have been iterating on Mythic+, giving it improvements and changes. One of these adjustments was the addition of seasonal affixes, something that has been prevalent since it was first introduced.

Kicking off the new expansion's seasonal affixes is Thundering. Here's what the Thundering Mythic+ affix is in WoW Dragonflight.

What is the Thundering Mythic+ Affix in WoW Dragonflight?

Like any other seasonal affix, Thundering looks to mix things up and add another element to Mythic+ at a Keystone level of 10 and above.

This means that on top of having to deal with the likes of Fortified and Tyrannical and combinations of Bolstering, Sanguine, Explosive, Quaking, and the like, players will have to keep in mind a fourth affix when completing their Mythic+ dungeons.

Thundering is unique when it comes to a seasonal affix, the affix forces players to be more proactive.

On an average of 75 seconds, Raszageth will fly over the combat area and cause a bunch of Lightning Strike swirlies to appear on the ground, if hit, players will get stunned for 1 second and take damage. Once the storm is over, four players will be chosen to deal with the affix's mechanic which places Mark of Lightning on two players and Mark of Wind on two other players.

While players have either of the debuffs, they will receive a 15% bonus damage or healing buff. When the debuff times out, they will be affected by Primal Overload, causing the player to be stunned for 8 seconds. In order to avoid being affected by Primal Overload, players need to touch someone with the opposite debuff, removing it.

Here's Thundering official description:

  • Thundering - Enemies have 5% more health. While in combat, players are periodically overcharged with primal power from Raszageth's unending storm. This power comes with great risk, and failure to discharge it quickly can have stunning consequences.
