In the midst of long queues and log-in times plaguing World of Warcraft Classic's servers, Blizzard Entertainment has announced two new Fresh Start realms prior to Wrath of the Lich King's release later this month.

Both of World of Warcraft's popular regions, North America and Europe, will receive another new Fresh Start realm to try and offset population issues with mega-servers.

WoW Classic Servers: Two New Fresh Start Realms Now Live

In June of 2022 Blizzard introduced Fresh Start Realms in preparation for Wrath of the Lich King's release and an influx of new players. The purpose of these servers was to give players a fresh and unique experience without any added benefits and some restrictions.

These realms were entirely new and were made specifically with players who were worried to start from behind in mind. They are Wrath of the Lich King servers from the get-go meaning that upon creating a new character they'd have all of the new talent trees and abilities coming in the new expansion.

FRESH EXPANSION, FRESH START: New Fresh Start realms have been added for the new WotLK expansion

However, over the course of the WotLK Classic pre-patch, both Fresh Start realms and normal realms have become increasingly full, giving players extremely long queues and log-in times. In response to this, Blizzard has locked down some of the "mega-realms" including NA's Faerlina, Benediction, Grobbulus, and added brand-new ones, including Eranikus, Skyfury, and Maladath, with some special transfer restrictions.

Since this problem has persisted, Blizzard has worked to slow things down by adding two more Fresh Start realms, Angerforge in NA, and Jin'do in EU.

Just like the other initially released Fresh Start realms, both Angerforge and Jin'do are privy to special rules and restrictions. These mean players can only play newly created characters, with no server transfers allowed for the first 90 days, level boosts being restricted entirely, and Death Knight restrictions requiring a level 55 character on the realm to create one.
